ELLE- Farfetch Has Launched A Rare Chanel Collection From The Eighties

Hello

This post will be article analysis. I would like to analyze article from Elle about fashion from the eighties.

I will be analyze step by step not to miss anything.

The first thing that catches the eye is the big picture which shows two female figures dressed in a chanel collection. The picture already suggests what the article will be about. This is not usually photo because it is plywood of pictures. It makes that our attention is focused twice. Something is happen, something interesting, intrigunig. The author of the photo used subdued colors, shades of beige and black. However, used a large element of red which also means that the viewer will not go past the graphics.

I noticed that the author of the text - Amy De Klerk uses informal language, because the words are not pronounced, the author depends on a comprehensible and friendly message. The article contains quotes, due to which we are sure that the author is a reliable source of information. We have detailed and comprehensive information about the topic. For example, Amy provided specific information, such as, data and money.

When  it comes to the structure of the text, it is divided into short parts. It makes that the viewer want to read.  The article is short  and  fashion ads appear, if the viewer pulls into the subject and suddenly the article ends, it may leave no taste and disgust this magazine. Fashion adverts are annoying because they distract me, yet I know they are needed to advertise and encourage the reader.

At the end of the article, the author encourages you to buy what she wrote above. it is also accurate in providing specific prices and product images.

In the next post I will be compare the 70s and current fashion, so I invite you to
see it.

Bye :)

ELLE

Hello

This post is about one of the fashion magazine :ELLE

ELLE this is a women's fashion magazine established in France in 1945 by Pierre Lazareff and his wife Helene Gordon (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2020).

Elle also has articles on other topics, such as News, Beauty, Life + Culture , and Horoscopes. This magazine has an extensive database of information, so I invite you to check.
"In the early 21st century Elle had the largest readership of any fashion magazine in the world, with culturally specific editions published on six continents"(Encyclopedia Britannica,2020).

                                                          elle-magazine-may-2020

The photo presents the cover of Elle from May 2020, So it's the latest copy.
Already here you can see certain outline of the 70s fashion, pay attention to the cut of the shorts. However, it's a combination of modern and 70s fashion.

The cover of magazine contain many elements.  You can see that the magazine contains a large database of information, but you can see chaos here. We doesn't know what to focus on, but it can also encourage viewers to become readers.

           Casual Summer Days
Here we see the 70s fashion.  Short, colorful shorts resamble
the cut from the photo above. However, on the cover of ELLE you can see only one color - black, while here we can see different colors mixed together.

In the next post I will be analyze one of the article from ELLE.

See you in the next post!
Have a good day.

Sarah Mower

Hi

Today I prepared research about a journalist: Sarah Mower.

Sarah Mower is a famous fashion critic  and columnist for publications. She "is internationally acclaimed for her forthright and decisive critiques" (Bof ,2020). Her career in fashion began when she won in the British Vogue Talent contest while studying.

She wrote many articles, especially for VOGUE, but one of them caught my attention the most.  The article is written recently, during a pandemic. Mower compares today's pandemic to war and looks at the fashion after that angle. She compares the  outfits of nurses and soldiers from the time of war to today's "war". It's how people who save lives everyday.

Fashion In Times Of Crisis: 6 Wartime Lessons We Can Learn From Our Great-Grandmothers

The article is written interesingly, the author is able to encourage and stop the reader with her novel. It contains a lot of pictures it helps the readers to imagine what the author thinks.  The only thing I don't like about this magazine is the lack of summary.

See you in the net post!

Project Sign Off and Project idea

Hello

Today I will show you my final idea for project and my Project Sign off.

I decided to write an article about 70s retro fashion in nowadays.

More and more people pay attention to fashion trends, experiment with it, add something new or old.

“The year 1970 was a year with no predominant look. Walk a block or so on any big city street, you’de see women wearing Indian block-print bedspread dresses, tight tie-dye T-shirts and hip hugger jeans, afros, boots that hooked up the front, long calico dresses, rose-printed black-challis dirndl skirts, maxi coats, and microminis” (Vintage Dancer,2018).

This photo shows an example, what did the women wear in  the 1970s.

Project Ideas

Hello

I have been thinking how to prepare my project for several days. It's difficutl for me because I'm a person who can't change your thoughts into something real.

I would like to make a short film about me, about my changes in terms of fashion and psychology, what it gave me, how these changes in my life helped me.

I found some inspirations but I still don't have the full vision of the project.

This video I liked it very much and to some extent I would like to do something similar.

               TURNT Fashion Film 2018

Black and white photos, characterization and character movements are great, captivated me. However, Video sounds are not something that I would like to use, they do not appeal to me.
Iwould like to add my voice or caption in my film but I know thai it can be more difficult without professional equipment.

The next inspiration is video which I found when I was looking for fashion directors and I found it on the website : Cadence Film. The video is created by Quentin Jones,
mixed-media artist and filmmaker. She create black and white, surrealist videos.

                        Punk Stories

This video presents Cara Delevingne who is presented in punk style. The video is different than previous video, because it contains a lot of chaotic, 3D elements, is presented in a surreal way. The whole is interesting and I like it but it is not a viedo that I could watch all the time. There are very many elements that are not typical for ordinary videos. She expresses the emotions of this culture not only through clothing but also through body expression, feelings. You can see that the author focuses more on post production, editing than just filming. She try focus on design and special effects.

First, I thought that my video would consist of my old and present photos, to show my change, in many ways. But now I think that the video also consists of my photos but they would express emotions. I would like to use the colors of the costumes and convey how everyone sees them and what I feel when performing a given activity. I would focus on expressing emotions through both mode and color, of course, in the light of the possibilities I have during today's situation (epidemic).

                                     Photo 1.

This photo shows more or less what I mean. The colours that the kids are wearing reflect their emotions.

                                     Photo 2.

This screen-shot shows how many emotions one color can convey.

Photo 3.

I like this quote very much, it's real.

As for the project, I'm still not sure how I would like to use these ideas.

 Thank you

See Ya!

Object Lesson

Hi

Today I will show you my Object Lesson. I chose baseball cap.

I chose this cap because is different than all baseball caps and I like it. When I feel better, it's a strange but positive feeling, hah. Associate it with a movie that I like very much, it also shows changes in life, changes in myself, finding my own life path. That is why there is another design inspiration.

The movie which I chose:  Burlesque

                         Burlesque

This film is about young woman who decides to change her life and start doing what she really loves to sing. She goes to another city and discovers a place that changes her life.

I love this movie because I try to identify with the main character who plays Christina Aguilera, she discovers her passion, changes everything, risks and pays to take that risk.

                    Christina Aguilera

Her private life also shows changes for the better, because when she was 6 years old with
mother moved to her grandmother because of the aggression due to both physical and mental aggression of the father. After a hard life she managed to achieve success, even leaving her father is not easy.

However, my bassebal cap also has a different use. I used it as a container for jewelry or something like this. It seems to us that each item is intended for one use only. Well, no, we can always look at it from a different perspective.

This show that we can give new life to ordinary things. in my case bassebal cap is for me therapy in the form of fashion but it can also be a box in which I hide something that is important to me. It can be my diary or a list of ideas for changing myself.
It can hide my mind in diferrent way.

Thank you

See you in the next post!
